Hello Everyone, my name is Rod or Sleepless. In my free time I enjoy making pixel art, but I am currently not very good at it right now I can admit, but I hope to get some critique so I can get better. I hope to get to know you all.

Hey people, this is Demon Lizardman. I mostly do digital art with Photoshop, but then I decided to get into spriting so I can make games and such. So yeah, I'm a beginner and I kinda suck. But I hope I do improve here.

Hello there! I'm new here and wanted to share my work with you:

As university is over and I'm into the well deserved holidays, I thought i'd give pixeling some time again. Pixelarts and me share an on/off relationship, I've been doing it for a couple of years, but never really seriously. Now that I've found this seemingly active community there's some new spirit.

A year ago I was making some kind of portfolio-website: http://sascha_naderer.public1.linz.at/1.html
I looked into the portfolio forum, but most of the people there are looking for work (which I don't...yet) so I thought this is the right place. If not, feel free to move the thread and slap me hard Smiley .

My thought was to give some impressions about my current style. There's really not too much to see, but like I said, it's only an impression.
As you can see I don't really use shades, some people do, some people don't when it comes down to create isometric scenes.
For transparency (for windows), I used photoshop. I hope this does not disqualify me as a pixel artist (does it  Huh )

More of my work can be seen here:
http://snade.deviantart.com/art/The-Suburbs-164893374?q=sort%3Atime+gallery%3Asnade&qo=0
http://snade.deviantart.com/art/Twin-Dragon-Apartments-159318527?q=sort%3Atime+gallery%3Asnade&qo=2
http://snade.deviantart.com/art/Choca-Headquarters-159317896?q=sort%3Atime+gallery%3Asnade&qo=3

I'm currently working on some small projects and I think there's still room for enhancement on my work.
So, what are your thoughts?

Welcome snade. Hope you have a nice stay.

This is mainly a critique forum, so in the pixel art section goes unfinished work which you want to get comments on as far as helping to make it better goes.
Which is why I merged your thread with the introduction thread Smiley

Have a nice stay.

I am FLamesterart ( just call me flamester) i am an ok pixel artist, though i am better with a pencil and paper, and another person recommended i come her eand show some things i have made, and about the removal of signatures, mine is too big, and i think it would be cool if instead of removing oversized sigs, you just replace them with a link. never mind about showing what ive made, the only reason i got here is because someone on another site sent me here to show it. and they only did it to screw with mejavascript:void(0); so ignore this post, ignore the thread i made for it, as i see it has already been closed. turthfully, i dont really care if you just ignore me altogether. flamester out. javascript:void(0);

Hello.  I'm a programmer and a fan of all things 8-bit, ever since playing Atari and NES games as a kid.

20 years later, I started working on my own game and discovered that not only were people still making pixel art, they were making absolutely amazing things with it.  I found this site via a recent article about pixel art as nostalgia vs. real art.  It's definitely both for me.

I feel like I've already learned a lot just lurking around here for a week.  I hope to learn more by posting a bit.

Hi there.

I'm a game programmer, trying to refine my pixel art skills.  I was advised to head over here by some folks at tigsource.  Hello!

Hi, I'm Zubodybop. I've been pixeling since like 2001, but haven't really taken it seriously until this past year. I started editing Megaman sprites, but I got past edits awhile ago, and I really hope to improve now. I'm not the greatest artist drawing-wise (don't really have the patience because there's no CTRL-Z in real life. xD), but I enjoy pixeling immensely.

I'm also interested in game programming, and would love to put my sprites into action in a game one day.

Greetings!
My name is Derek and I have been creating pixel art since I got a Gateway computer (ewww)   in '97. My motivation back then was to make fake buttons and false icons on the desktop to confuse my parents.  Wink

Since then, I have been developing games in programs that require no scripting as I have yet to take a class in any programming languages.
My best success would probably be my remake of the elderly but amazing game "Chip's Challenge". A video walk-through of the first four levels is found here, but unfortunately it is not yet available for download.

I have been intermittently visiting this site since late 2007 or early 2008, but I intend to start participating here more and doing much more pixel art.
In advance, it's a pleasure to meet everyone.  Grin

Hey there, I'm 21, just finished a BA (Hons) Games Art & Design, and I wanted to go back to spriting so I could try and make a short indie game to put on XBLA. Test the waters kinda deal. Been lurking here for a little while and decided to start actually posting.

Hello,

So basically, I've been pixelling for a while now, although I wouldn't say I'm amazing, when I put effort into things, I recieve pretty good outcomes. I've come from a forum called HBGames, it's basically a forum based around the RPG Maker, Game Maker, and any other game making tool and programming tools, and as you'll know, making your own game look good will require custom materials, sprites included.

I've registered here to recieve C&C on my pixels and hopefully improve...

Oh and PS. I have my own religion, Jbristianity, and I WILL push it upon you all! ... just a heads up.

Hi everyone my name is Sean/SeanZ (whichever you prefer).  I have 2 art degrees one being in video game design.  I have started fooling around with pixel art for the past 2 years and am looking to start taking it very seriously.  I am currently working on an unannounced XNA game project all done in 8-bit graphics to be released hopefully within the next few months.  I am trying my best to produce the best kind of pixel art for this game and thats what brings me here.  I want a good art community that can give me great tips, tricks, and critiques for the stuff I am working on.  I look forward to meeting everyone here.

Thanks

Cheesy Hey you crazy kids! My Name is Tim , but most people around the interweb know me as demon11777( Or merlax from byond or EO) . I started out just drawing random things on paint. Then my friend got me into Byond where i got into animating sprites. Over the years i took a few graphics classes which focused on 3d studio max. Then I got into game maker and got prety good at GML.  I love making my own sprites and all i want to do is improve  Grin! Stumbled upon this site a few days ago while looking for an RPG tile set to model off of and registered after seeing the insane quality of work.

Hey guys, I'm new here and I'd never heard of this site till I stumbled upon it tonight.  My art background is in traditional animation, which I went to school for, and I live and breathe by movement theory, principle and physics.  I've long been a fan of game gifs, and have studied and collected quite a few classic Nintendo and newer Capcom sprites.  I just spent like 2 hours combing some of the tutorial links and want to throw my hat into the ring with some of the pros on this site.  I hope to work up some stuff soon and get feedback to ultimately be able to make a pixel portfolio.

Look forward to some feedback about my yet-to-be-designed work, and in the meantime I'll do my best to preemptively return the favor and try to be a helpful, productive member of the community here!

My name is Wiley, I'm preparing to go into production on a 2d adventure game for the iPad next year, and I've been lurking here for a few months checking out portfolios, looking for a production artist to hire. I'm specifically looking for someone with really expressive animation skills, and also someone who can adapt their style to meet halfway with finished concept art.

Greetings. You can call me DVX for short.

I am a new member(DUH!) to both to this site and to the Pixel art form. Well, I have tried Pixel art before, and I wasn't really much into it, but there is a change of heart now.

I hope, with this forum, I can improve my skills and engage more in this beautiful Art form which also known as Pixel art. So, see you on the forum.

Hello everyone! I have loved pixel art from a very young age, though only recently decided to try and learn a bit more about how to make it! I hope you can all help me with my probably unsuccessful attempts, and help me obtain a better knowledge of this wonderful art form!

Hey everyone, I decided to try my hand a pixel art, so that's why I'm here, obviously ^^.  Hopefully I'll be able to make something decent soon.  (Maybe not too soon though, considering I'm very new at this..)

Hello, I'm Edwin, always enjoyed pixel art on its own terms nack in my NES/SNES days and want to experiment with it now as a medium.
